Successful athletes work on their own beyond team practice and even lessons.  I always give homework assignments to my athletes as it is so very important that the skills learned in the lessons are repeated over the week for the athlete to show improvement.  Lessons are actually not intended to be practice but an educational service to help the athlete learn what is needed for her to succeed and THEN work on it.

So, with this in mind, I want to make the homework assignments as clear as possible. Here is the problem.  The typical softball hitter does not have a batting tunnel at their disposal.  So I try to give assignments that can be done even in a small yard.

Batting Tee with Wiffleballs

Bat Isometric Drill

Net Drill with a tree

Short Toss with Wiffleballs

Dry swings
